The Medical Commission was formed with a separate constitution and office bearers. The aims and objectives of the Commission are to advice the Executive Committee on all matters relating to medical aspects of Boxing; responsibilities include enforcing doping regulations at local meets, assisting referees in deciding if boxers are fit to continue, and providing first aid when a boxer sustains a serious injury or loss of consciousness.
The Sponsorship Committee will provide the relevant infrastructure needed to conduct tournaments in both local and international arenas. The committee looks in to the financial support and investment required to enable Sri Lankan boxers to represent their country internationally.
The Women’s Commission plays a significant role in uplifting and sustaining the standards of women’s boxing in Sri Lanka. Female coaches and referee/judges are also managed and monitored by the Commission. The aims and objectives of the Women’s Commission shall be to advise the Executive Committee on all matters relating to Women’s Boxing and to promote, foster and encourage women in boxing at elite development and recreational levels.
The Disciplinary Committee consists of not more than five members elected at the Annual General Meeting, having the power to inquire in to allegations against any affiliated club, organization or member of such club or organization, or any boxing official, coach or office bearer of the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka in the event of non-compliance with, or contravention of any rules or directions of the Association or the AIBA Regulations, or misconduct, bringing discredit to the interest of boxing.
The Selection Committee is solely responsible for the selection of boxers for international meets. The Committee selects boxers in adherence to rules and regulations, tracking and recording their progress within the annual calendar, and ensuring the best fighters represent Sri Lanka internationally.
The Athletes & Youth Commission encourages the development of youth boxing in Sri Lanka, providing them timely advice and direction to partake in the tournaments locally & internationally.
The Association of Boxing Coaches was formed under the auspices of the Affiliated Clubs to the Association. The aims and objectives of the Coaches Association are to increase the number of coaches, improve the standard of coaching in Sri Lanka, and to encourage and develop coaches on par with International standards.
The Association of Boxing Referees and Judges was formed under the auspices of the Affiliated Clubs to the Association. The aims and objectives of the Association are to promote, encourage and improve the standard and number of boxing referees and judges in Sri Lanka, to allocate referees and other officials for the various bouts in each meet organized, conducted, or approved by the Association, and to promote achieving of international recognition of boxing referees and judges to become members of the Asian Body and AIBA.
